Bias violence includes acts of personal violence motivated by a perpetrator's perception that the victim is a member of a particular group and other crimes, such as criminal trespass and damage to property. This article, the second of two parts, describes federal and state claims that may be available to a victim of bias violence and contains an appendix cataloging state civil-law provisions.
