Webinar: What Illinois Immigrants Need to Know During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Learn more about changes to immigration policy and enforcement, immigrant eligibility for public benefits, and how/whether the final public charge rule affects access of these programs.

The COVID-19 crisis has revealed the high cost of policies that have kept undocumented immigrants in the shadows and without access to life-saving healthcare, housing, and food assistance.

On April 9, 2020, the Shriver Center, in partnership with the Protecting Immigrant Families – Illinois coalition, hosted a webinar on what immigrant families in Illinois need to know during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Presenters Andrea Kovach and Militza Pagán discussed changes to immigration policy and enforcement, immigrant eligibility for certain public benefits and programs, and how/whether the final public charge rule affects access of these programs.
