Electronic Benefits Transfers

Over the past twenty years electronic benefit transfers (EBTs) have replaced paper checks for the delivery of public assistance benefits.  As the electronic age continues to shape the delivery of public benefit payments, we need to recognize and examine the implications of these delivery systems, especially the differences between EBT and EPC systems, and the potential impact, both positive and negative, these systems can have on low-income communities.

The Shriver Center offered a webinar on EBT in 2011.
