No. 2-03 (Ct. Vet. App. May 16, 2003) ; Clearinghouse Number: 55085
Description
Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims Further Revises Rules of Practice and Procedure
Abstract
The U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims adopted further
changes in its Rules of Practice and Procedure. A first set of
revisions (No. 1-03, Jan. 15, 2003) took effect on February 14,
2003, with one exception. The second set of revisions (No. 2-03,
May 16, 2003) took effect on July 1, 2003. The court issued the
second set of revisions following public comment and advisory
committee input on the January 15, 2003, revisions. The May 16,
2003, order includes practitioners’ notes describing
significant changes made in both sets. It directs practitioners to
a precedential decision of the court regarding Rule 39 applications
and urges practitioners to note in particular the change regarding
motions to extend filing time beyond forty-five days
