Charles Elsesser co-founded the Community Justice Project in 2015. Prior to that, he worked as an attorney at Florida Legal Services since 1997, where he was involved with civil rights, housing litigation and advocacy. He has roughly three decades experience in legal aid, and has received numerous awards for his long record of significant advocacy. Elsesser has also served as the Director of the Housing Department of the City of Santa Monica, California and as a Clinical Instructor of Law at University of Southern California Law Center in Los Angeles. He has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1972 and the Florida Bar since 1992.
