Screening for Mental Health Problems in Children

This article examines the challenges faced by primary care providers who are responsible for identifying mental health problems in children and explains various screening mechanisms that are being used by four states in their EPSDT programs. The article also identifies a number of expert-developed screening instruments that have been proven to be effective and reliable in identifying mental health disorders in children.
