The State of Poverty: Who Will Lead the Change?

Shriver Center Honors Change Makers: Paula E. Boggs and Raul Yzaguirre


WHO:    Walter Mosely, acclaimed author and social commentator, is the featured speaker.
Paula E. Boggs, executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary of the Starbucks Coffee Company, will be honored with the 2006 Sargent Shriver Award for Equal Justice for Distinguished Achievement in Promoting Quality Legal Services for Low-Income People.
Raul Yzaguirre, former president and chief executive officer of the National Council of La Raza and founding executive director of the Center for Community Development and Civil Rights, will be honored with the 2006 Sargent Shriver Award for Equal Justice for Distinguished Achievement in Championing and Advocating the Legal Rights of All Hispanic People in the United States.
           
WHAT:    The Shriver Center 2006 Awards Dinner will honor individuals who have contributed greatly to the cause of justice for people in poverty and identify those who are successfully leading change to advance the lives of low-income people.
