Letter From Our President
Dear Friends:
In 2009, we won advances in housing, work opportunities, workplace rights for victims of domestic or sexual violence, child care and more. Our Special Issue of Clearinghouse Review was an invaluable guide to the rights of veterans, service members, and their families. We organized a ground-breaking symposium on the impact on low-income communities of climate change and legislative solutions to it.
We look forward to 2010 as another year of progress in our mission to advance justice, opportunity and human rights. The work will include continued leadership in finding a solution to the Illinois budget crisis that preserves key programs from disastrous cuts and lays the groundwork for progress. We also will expand our work on environmental issues; begin implementation of national health care reform; continue to preserve the crucial stock of affordable housing; and complete work to identify best practices for middle and high schools to help students who are pregnant, parenting or victims of family or sexual violence. We will produce six influential issues of Clearinghouse Review and continue to expand our other communications. And quite a lot more!
We thank you for your support and welcome your continued partnership.

John Bouman,
President
